If you’re familiar with my blog, you know I’m a huge fan of GirlSecurity. An organization that encourages young women to pursue careers in national security through educational workshops and mentor-pairings, GirlSecurity is one of the most wide-spread groups working to increase the gender diversity in the national security field. To learn more about the program in general, read my earlier blog post here.

But GirlSecurity is currently accepting applications to their prestigious National Security Fellowship through November 12th, so act fast! The National Security Fellowship is a 15-week educational program aimed at allowing participants to develop a more meaningful understanding of national security and government, build useful skills for their professional careers, and strengthen relationships with peers and mentors in the field.

The program begins February 1, 2022, and will be carried out virtually over the length of the program on Tuesday evenings. Currently enrolled female junior or senior high school students or first or second year undergraduate students (ages 15-19) that live in the U.S. or U.S. territories are eligible. The program also offers a $1000 stipend.

To find the application or learn more about the program, visit GirlSecurity’s website here. I strongly encourage anyone who is eligible to apply. Good luck everyone!
